My Philosophy
Taking the first step toward seeking counseling can often be the most challenging part. I truly understand the importance of feeling supported and accepted. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, comfortable, and understood. Together, we’ll explore what matters most to you, and I’ll provide non-judgmental support and empathy to help you work toward achieving your goals. I primarily work from cognitive-behavioral and person-centered approaches, but I’m always open to adapting and blending techniques from other theories that best support your unique needs.
My background is in Health Education, and I spent 18 years teaching Health at the junior high level. During that time, I often found myself helping students navigate personal struggles, and I wanted to offer more than just a listening ear. While I cherish my years in the classroom, my heart led me to want to help people on a deeper and more individual level. It would be my privilege to walk alongside you on your path to healing.
